CONCEPT

Open plan that allows visual integration of the landscape. There is a play of form, function, light and some of the walls to create airy, open, naturally lit and ventilated space. The house shows us the expression of an idea in a unique space moment, when we use the work throughout a sensorial course, distributed to serve the functional program. The design of the house and the landscape employ a number of key sustainable design strategies to ensure minimum maintenance, low energy using low water use and low embodied energy. The front corner elevation has Jaali work balanced by tensile framed structure in front of entrance lobby. The simple exterior has a contrast use of elements and texture on the face where wooden cladding on first floor balcony above rear bedroom continues and connects the pergola above driveway as aesthetic element. Surface is finished with Dholpur stone to provide a rough texture providing it a royal look. The Chocolate-Brown color Projection all over the front elevation complemented to the front one. The Front elevation has big glass panels where in a cantilever platform extends from first floor act as balcony overlooking the private lawn. House is designed according to VASTU SHASTRA guidelines.

It is always suggest to intake the enough sunlight, fresh air and space required to attain life’s charm, hygiene, health, wealth and families harmony. It emphasizes to maintain nature’s own value and sanctity like rainwater harvesting, plantation 7 making environment free from pollution 7 hazards.

Landscaping provides  an attitude that encourages the viewer  to come forth  and  explore the spaces for himself  and  thus  adding an element  of  user  participation. Building  has  its  own  individual  identity within  the  limit  of  boldness and  technical  aspects as the built  form says  it-self   that   the   form   belong   to   the   natural  stream

The gateway of the building is led to front lawn with amazing courtyard and water. A pool in the courtyard and water flowing become a focal point of the court. The sound of the flowing water   of   the   fountain   becomes so mesmerizing that it reminds the feeling of   inner    peace   with   oneself   and   with   nature.

DESIGN BRIEF

SITE LOCATION – This site is located in Hanuman Nagar, outskirts of Jaipur (Rajasthan). The Plot is 5800 sq.ft in size with parallelogram shape which was a big challenge in its own way, but with high quality designing and retaining all the basic concepts of architecture we created an design which outstands against other residential designs.

SITE CONDITION – It is an corner plot which is open from two sides to the road. In the vast sandy northwestern region, soils are predominantly saline or alkaline. Rajasthan has a wide range of climate varying from extremely arid to humid.

CHALLENGES – The design uses traditional cooling methods found in the desert environment of Rajasthan, such as  green landscape  and the use of Jali inspired structures

PLANNING CONCEPTS – It is a corner plot open from 2 sides to the road. The design uses traditional cooling methods found in the desert environment of Rajasthan, such as  green landscape  and the use of Jali-inspired structures. House is designed according to VASTU SHASTRA guidelines. It is always suggested to intake of the enough sunlight, fresh air and space required to attain life’s charm, hygiene, health, wealth and families harmony. It also emphasizes to maintain nature’s own value and sanctity like rainwater harvesting, plantation making it enviroment free from pollution 7 hazards. Design of this house uses two sectional views: horizontal and vertical. Horizontal moves creates two courtyards one at back of house and another connecting first and second floor  while the vertical moves digs the central landscape with upper floors.

The combination of these two moves serves the house interlocking with site and surrounding. Thus  interweaving   the  inside  outside  spaces  with  a  play  of   light  and  dark. The “Client” brief was for a multistory family home on a narrow exposed site that would incorporate views, while at the same time, providing security and privacy. The owner wanted an open-plan design with lots of light and a sense of space throughout the house, as well as privacy and quite for the bedroom on upper levels.  The building turns into a dramatic space at night enhanced by lights and create shadows which fall on the walls of the building and it seems that they are merging. The fusion of light and shadow in the exterior is so profound that the building seems to glow and shine at night and the sight of it is so nostalgic. Interrelated  open  space  is  generic  basis  of landscape  design, permeating   the  HOUSE, symbiotic  relations  has  been  established. Hall in basement leads to bar area which opens into home theatre.  The bar has a trapped ceiling and wooden panels as design elements. The bar-an extension adds the jazz to the theatre provides the luxury feel to the basement.

ELEVATIONAL CONCEPTS – The front corner elevation has Jaali work balanced by tensile framed structure in front of entrance lobby.
